Ori and The Blind Forest: Definitive Edition: Video Review

Better late than never. Probably everyone has at least once encountered a situation when all the deadlines have already passed, but you still complete the task at hand. So we decided that it would be rude to leave without a video review one of the best arcade games of last year – Ori and the Blind Forest. In addition, this game was recently re-released – what a reason to talk about it again and look at the changes that have occurred.

Shchito? Even on Steam there is a metroidvania tag, and everyone said that it was a metroidvania, those who presented it as a “super mitboy with beautiful art” do not know about the existence of such a subgenre as metroidvania)

Vasya, regarding spoilers, on the one hand you are right that you shouldn’t bomb so much. But on the other hand, I would prefer to find out about the death of a character who was in all the promotional materials of the game in the game itself – this is one time, and about the fact that the main villain of the game is not such a villain, I would also prefer to find out in the game itself. I understand that the plot of the game is not such a spoiler, and you essentially told it, but by the same token you ruined a rather important impression that the developers wanted to make me (as a player) experience at the beginning of the game. Don’t do that.

I don’t usually bomb with spoilers, but I wrote it here. This is still a review of the game, and even if it is already a year old, this does not change the fact that there should be no spoilers in it (at least in the SG format of game reviews).

Whining is whining, but I was also perplexed when Vasily mentioned that Kuro is actually not that evil and she also had her reasons. Why say this, this plot twist (if you can call it that) happens at the very end and the player is surprised “Oh, so that’s it”. Why couldn’t you just tell the plot?? I don’t see any objective reasons for this. The review would not have been shorter, because he spent 5 seconds on it. The review would not have lost its mood if he had simply said that the game is sad, without touching on the details of the plot of the second half of the game.

Exactly. After all, this is my complaint – they are not needed for the review, and for someone they may partially spoil the pleasure of passing.

And excluding these points, https://nevada777casino.co.uk/mobile-app/ I more than liked the review. And in general it feels like a kind of apology for SuperHot. Created an atmosphere, tells the story with sincerity, speaks pleasantly to the audience.

But this is SG, no one reads anything here, and everyone rushes from one extreme to another: “I said something about spoilers?! Die YouTube troll, minus minus for you, and in your profile too! Oh yeah I’m amazing!».
Thank you for at least someone reading the comments in their right mind.

The add-on will be released on PC soon. It is currently being actively developed. The developers do not give any exact timing other than “soon”. The discount scheme for those who had the original will work on PC too. The extension will be available on Steam and not only on Windows 10, but on any build (software, hardware) where the original worked. I hope I answered all the questions.

This "Definitive Edition" should be thought of as a small DLC rather than a re-release. Thus, many questions disappear.

I hope they will understand me correctly and not bombard me with minuses. But I would give this RE-EDITION a commendable rating. if not less. There are certainly no complaints about the game itself, but there are some about the re-release. A couple of levels that you won’t find, a quick teleport to a location and without which you could live normally… In general, such dubious content for a reissue. Although maybe I don’t understand something)

What beautiful new locations! It’s a pity that only on Xbox-e..
In general, it’s interesting that the game is perceived a little differently when you just watch. During the gameplay, all attention is focused on the middle of the screen and the main character. And if you just watch and don’t worry about being flattened/hit/shot/pierced at the next turn (and all that stuff), then it will look most gorgeous – you can’t take your eyes off it – all the backdrops are animated, the grass moves, there are practically no static objects except stones.
And I don’t quite agree with the previous commentator – on the contrary, it was interesting for me to discover all sorts of secrets at the levels. Yes, it’s better to do this when all the abilities have been obtained, but the game is so beautiful and manageable that you don’t get tired of returning to the same locations. So, everyone who receives research should definitely take it.
(Do you really have to go through it again??! One buggy achievement remains… The game is very good! )

This is Galperia. Now for a year he will remember the well-known (in SG) situation with the spoiler in his review. It’s possible that he even inserted it on purpose here, because he knows how to be naughty and sarcastic, he loves it, he practices it.

I’ve already finished the original version, so I’m not afraid of any spoilers. BUT, the moment with Kuro is a plot twist. Not to say that it is strong, but nevertheless it is a twist. And there was no need to say anything about Naru. Such things really spoil the experience of the first playthrough for some players who saw the review.
And the review is not bad. What were these two moments?? No use. That’s why I think that Vasilina ChSVshnaya did it purely out of spite.

Best metroidvania ever. I passed it last year and will do it again this year with great pleasure.

Vasyan-Obozryan – well done. The game is beautiful. I’m even slightly motivated to buy it, even though I don’t like platformers

Well the game is good. I don’t argue. It’s just that everyone has a different approach to games) And yes, it bombs me quickly and notably 😀 Well then, I wish you a pleasant time with the re-release)

It’s not for nothing that the game deserved the title of the best arcade of 2015. I completed the original with pleasure, and I will replay the expanded edition with the same pleasure. And I’m ready to admit that I slightly shed a stingy male tear at one moment at the beginning of the game.

And it is unknown how much the game will cost those who already have the standard version?
I would say that I hope for a free upgrade, but naivety is a dangerous thing these days)
